📢 21st Century Summer Program Reminders 📢

💦 Sprinkler Day (PK–2nd Grade)
Every Tuesday is Sprinkler Day! Please send your child with:
✔️ Clothes that can get wet
✔️ Shoes that can get wet
✔️ A towel

🏊 Swimming Club (3rd–8th Grade)
Swimming Club will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

⚠️ Please Note: There will be NO Swimming Club on Friday, June 12 due to our field trip to the Science Museum in Oklahoma City.

🚌 Science Museum Field Trip – June 12, 2026

Departing school at approximately 8:30 AM
Returning to school at approximately 5:00 PM
Sack lunches will be provided
Students will receive an afternoon snack on the return trip

Parents/Legal Guardians are welcome to attend the field trip; however:
• Admission must be paid at the door
• Parents/Guardians may not ride the school bus due to insurance regulations

🔬🪴 Little Scientists at Work! 🪴🔬

Our 21st Century Summer Program students have been busy exploring, creating, and learning as they become Little Scientists!

This week, students:
🌵 Created adorable succulents out of felt while learning about plants and creativity.
🌧️ Made their own "rainy day" experiments using common household items to explore weather and science concepts.
🌱 Designed sprouting jars to observe seeds germinate and learn firsthand how plants grow.

Hands-on learning like this helps students develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a love for science while having fun! We are so proud of our young scientists and can't wait to see what they discover next.

💦 Reminder: Tomorrow is Water Day in our 21st Century Summer Program! 💦 Students in PK–2nd grade will enjoy sprinkler fun at the Elementary campus. Students in 3rd–8th grade will be going to the Maud Swimming Pool. Please make sure your child: • Wears appropriate clothing for water activities • Brings a towel to school We look forward to a great day of summer fun!

Student transfer portal opens Monday, June 1st.

This is a reminder to students enrolled in the 21st Century Summer Program that the program begins on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Program hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

If you will be dropping off your child, please use the bus pull-through and drop students off at the cafeteria, as breakfast will be served beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Please note that students should not arrive before 7:45 a.m., as teachers and staff will not be on duty prior to that time.

It's that time of year again! Community Market is thrilled to announce that they have been approved to provide grab-and-go meals for kids this summer!

Families will be able to pick up 20 meals per child every two weeks from their location, starting Wednesday, June 3rd. These meals are designed to ensure children have access to nutritious food throughout the summer months.

Here is a flyer with all the important details, including specific pick-up dates and times, as well as a map to help families easily navigate the pick-up process.

Due to the rain and wet conditions, all Elementary Field Day activities will be moved indoors today. However, due to limited space, our indoor Field Day will look different from the one originally planned outdoors.

Even if the rain stops, the grounds around the Elementary Building and playground areas will remain wet and muddy, making outdoor activities impossible. In addition, there will not be a concession stand available today.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to make the day enjoyable for all students.

We would like to welcome you to help us recognize our students at the following: -Middle School and High School Awards Assembly will be Tuesday, May 19 at 9:30 AM in the High School Gymnasium. -Baccalaureate will be Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church. -Graduation will be Friday, May 22 at 7:00 PM in the High School Gymnasium.

The students who were getting physicals will return to the school around 4:15 PM. Thank you for your attention.

Attention all baseball parents: The baseball teams will be taking pictures tomorrow morning during first hour. Please make sure the players bring their uniforms to school for the pictures. Thank you!

I wanted to send this out as soon as I was able to work everything out. Our Elementary Field Day that was scheduled for tomorrow, May 14, 2026, has been rescheduled to next Tuesday, May 19, 2026, starting at 12:00 p.m. for PK through 5th Grade students.

Flower forms have been distributed to seniors. Please make sure they are returned to either Mrs. Stewart or Mr. Davis by tomorrow.

OKANA trip tomorrow, May 14th - the bus leaves at 9.15 am. Students will need to bring their permission form (if not already returned), $10 for entry, and extra money for lunch. Please RSVP to Mrs. Stewart today if you plan to attend.

Senior Breakfast - Tuesday 19th - the bus leaves at 6.30 am, and we will have breakfast at Boomerang on MacArthur in Shawnee. Please RSVP to Mr. Davis if you plan to attend. We will be back in time for the awards ceremony and graduation practice.

Bacclaureate will be held at Trinity Baptist Church at 7 pm on Wednesday 20th May.

We look forward to celebrating our middle school and high school athletes with you at our annual Maud Athletics Reception on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 PM in the Community Center. We are asking that all families of athletes bring finger foods and snacks. Hope to see you there! Go Tigers!
