The Field Day shirts for every student will be handed out tomorrow before the events begin.

This is just a reminder that our Elementary Field Day is tomorrow for Pre-K and Kindergarten starting at 9:30. Followed by the 1st and 2nd Grade at 12:30. We are hoping the rain will end. However, there is a 14% chance of rain tomorrow. If it is raining the activities for the students will be moved inside. The down side to this is that due to CDC guidelines our gym is not big enough to maintain the social distancing that is required, and unfortunately parents will not be allowed to come in. If this happens we have someone who will be taking pictures. If it is not raining then we will have the Field Day outside as planned. If you would send a change of clothes to school with your child in case they get muddy, then they will have dry clothes to change into after the events.

Students who are currently enrolled in 4th and 5th Grade who are interested in playing sports for the 2021-2022 school will need a Physical. Maud School will be offering Physicals on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:30. Forms for Physicals will be sent home on Monday, May 10, 2021. Students who bring their form back along with the $10 Physical fee will be transported on a bus to the High School to have their Physical. If you have any questions please call the Elementary Office.

The 2020-2021 school year is coming to a close and the following are the End of Year Events for Maud Elementary; Tuesday, May 11, 2021 - 4th Nine Weeks AR Party for those students who have met their AR goal for the 4th Nine Weeks. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 - PK/KG Field Day starting @ 9:30. 1st/2nd Grade Field Day starting @ 12:30. We will have a concession stand. Parents are invited to attend. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Thursday, May 13, 2021 - 3rd - 5th Grade Field Day starting at 9:30 until 11:00 (lunch time) and then from 1:00-2:30. We will have a concession stand. Parents are invited to attend. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Friday, May 14, 2021 - Our last virtual Friday for the year. Please help ensure your child has cleared their school issued device of any photos, screen shots, or videos they may have taken. Please return all school issued IPads with charging cords and cubes, Chromebooks with charging cords, and Hot Spots with charging cords back to school on Monday, May 17, 2021. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 - Elementary Awards Assembly in the High School Gym. PK and 1st Grade will start at 9:00 2nd and 3rd Grade will start at 10:00 4th and 5th Grade will start at 1:00 Tuesday, May 18, 2021 - Kindergarten Graduation at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Gym. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 - AR Party for those students who have met their AR goal for all 4 nine weeks. Thursday, May 20, 2021 - Last day of school for the 2020-2021 School year.

Gordon Cooper will be offering the COVID vaccine to the public this Thursday 4/29 from 9 am- 3 pm in the CJES building (Enterprise room)-first come first serve (no appointment necessary). This vaccine is given to any employees, family members, students, and community members that are above the age of 18. Moderna is the vaccine that will be given.

Baseball Districts have been scheduled for Tuesday April 22nd at Moss. The games will start at 2:00 and 4:00, weather permitting. GO TIGERS!!!

Baseball boys game tomorrow has been moved up to 1:00 p.m. due to lack of teams in the tournament.

This is just a reminder that Maud Public Schools will not be in session on Friday, April 2, 2021 and Monday, April 5, 2021 for Easter. School will resume at normal time on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

The services for Ed Harman will be on Wednesday the 31st at 2:00 in the Ed Harman Gymnasium in Maud.

Funeral services for Ed Harman will be held on campus Wednesday the 31st at 2:00. Due to the expected number of people attending the service, the 6th-12th grade students will be dismissed at 12:30. We will run the bus routes and then run them again for the elementary at the regular time. The staff here at Maud Public Schools want to send our condolences to the Harman family during this time. Thank you.

Important Information Regarding Hot Spots from Verizon To help promote the safe operation of all Hot Spots, and to keep the devise from overheating or causing heat-related damage the manufacturer suggests the following best practices: • Use only approved charging cables, including the cable provided. • Unplug your device once it’s fully charged. Devices should not be left plugged in continuously. • When not in use, power down your device. • Place your device on a flat, solid and sturdy surface such as a floor or table. • Ensure your device is not covered for proper ventilation. • Keep devices near room temperature when in use. • Do not expose the units to extreme temperatures for extended periods of time. • Do not expose the unit or its battery to water or other liquids. • Do not drop the units and do not insert foreign objects into the battery or unit. If you find that your Hot Spot is overheating or if you are having any issues with the Hot Spot please contact the school.

This is just a reminder that Maud Public School will be closed Monday, March 15, 2021 through Friday, March 19, 2021 for Spring Break. Classes will resume at normal time on Monday, March 22, 2021. Have a great Spring Break!
